Gene Tangren Bio:

 

Gene lived on a farm for the first nine years of his life and has always felt a strong connection with Nature.  Gene began painting with Oil in 1987 and exhibited that year for the first time.  He continued to exhibit paintings until he moved out to Oregon in the late 1996.  Since 2005 has worked at the Portland Art Museum.  In 2011 he began painting with Acrylics and working on Mono Prints.  The Fauvists, Impressionists, and German Epressionists influence his works.  Gene exhibited works in Minneapolis at the Minneapolis Institue of Arts and Wilensky Ary Gallery from 1987 to 1996 and the Portland Art Museum from 2007 to the present.

this January 2012 show will be painting exploring of Flora, mostly in Acrylic with one Oil painting.

 

 

 

The NECC Art Gallery

The Northeast Community Center looks forward to promoting artists within the NECC community.  Each month, an artist will display his/her work in the center's lobby where all the members and guests can see.  There are also once a month artist receptions in conjunction with the Hollywood District Celebrations.
